How to save money playing paintball or Paintball Economics 101

Yes you can save money, believe it! Here is how.

Get back to basics, are you old enough to remember playing all day with a Splatmaster? To young for that? How about the Talon?
You may even have one lying around the garage or basement. While I am not suggesting that you drag out the Splatmaster and Talon and take on the super soaker crowd at the speedball field, I am suggesting that maybe getting back to the basics would be a good thing.

Try this, even if you don't own a pistol or pump marker, if you have a cyclone feed try a Tac Cap, if you have a regular feed try a 50 round hopper. If not either of those then just carry 200 rounds in your hopper and limit yourself to one hopper a game.
Put away those 140 round pods, pick up a couple of 50 rounders or 100 rounders, maybe even some 10 round tubes to carry your spare paint in.

Think of it this way,
Do we really have to drop 30, 40 or 100 balls on one target? We didn't do it in the past. Why do we have to do it now. Is it because we are inadequate in our skills?

If that is the case getting back to the basics is overdue. We don't have to play every game this way, but the more days that we do equals more days that we have extra cash to play. Spend less play more, I know we all want to play more.

I broke it down for to these kits for myself.

Kit 1
Phantom VSC
10-20 10 round tubes
13cui HPA tank

Kit 2
Sniper II
48 round hopper
10-20 10 round tubes
13cui HPA tank

Milsig Elite
6-8 18 round magazines
Tiberius T8
3 8 round magazines
13 cui or 47 cui HPA tank

Any of these three kits that I use, in an 8 hour day of playing paintball I will shoot less than 500 paintballs. Use 1-3 air fills and maybe 3 12grams.

By shooting a 1/4 of a case of paint I can justify playing 4 times as many games.
Also I like to hit games that are BYOP (Bring your own Paint) The case of paint I bought March 7th I still have 500 rounds out of and have played 5 times.

The most of us like to sneak around, looking for that one special shot that you talk about for months, that one shot that went through the briar patch and got the other teams General in the melon.

It's not about how much paint you can rain down on the other team, it is about those one ball eliminations that we talk about and remember.

The money you save today will pay to play tomorrow. See you on the field!

Let it be known that this day forward, I, Thomas Crusaders Campbell, name Medic 67 Czar of paintball. This is for is expertise and experience is The Field of Paintball.

I used the Tac Cap down in NC, and found I didn't not use as much paint. As well as air, I filled up once before the game. This is the way to go. The ONLY problem I had was when I re-loaded the hopper, if I had stuff in enough that the cap would barley closed, it would not cycle.

Good info Larry, now if I can only get Tommy to use a Tac Cap
